Sixth
Avenue is one of Park Slope’s grandest streets, block after block
containing rows of amazingly preserved brownstones. St. Augustine’s
fills a role as a rich and monumental counterpoint to such streetscape
neighbors. The crusty tower, with its mottled rock-face brownstone,
anchors a nave with finials and fleche, presenting an elegant angel
Gabriel.
