This
building, one of the most distinguished in the neighborhood, looks much
the same today as when it was built in 1910 by Charles Paterno to a design
by the locally famous architects Schwartz & Gross. Some of the
apartments shown below have since been subdivided, losing the luxury -
unimaginable today - of one apartment per floor. Harlan Fiske Stone, FDR's
chief justice, lived here.
