A Beaux
Arts landmark built in 1899 for the Civic Club, an organization founded by
wealthy reformer Frederick Goddard for the improvement of those living
between 23rd and 42nd streets, east of 4th (Park) Avenue. In 1946,
Goddard's family sold the building to the Estonian Educational Society.
The Estonian Educational Society, the newspaper Vabna Sona
newspaper and the Estonian folk dance troop Saare Vikat are all based
here.
